From Albuquerque Business First reporter Stephanie Guzman...
With Albuquerque's creative economy growing, a new event plans to empower those with fresh ideas.
The event, called 99U Local, is an informal and intimate presentation in which three professionals will offer advice on building a creative career.
99U Local is modeled after the annual 99U Conference in New York. Started in 2009, 99U's concept was to create a conference that taught people not just how to dream big, but how to execute those ideas. Its speakers have ranged from Twitter co-founders to those who started companies that changed their industries, such as Airbnb and eyewear brand Warby Parker.
Now, the conference is bringing its mission to a local level and chose 28 cities around the world to play host, and Albuquerque is one of them. Albuquerque's 99U Local event takes place Sept. 16 5:30 p.m. at Stereo Bar, 622 Central Ave. SW.
