Steve Arnold

Co-founder, Polaris Partners

Steve Arnold is a co-founder and partner emeritus at Polaris Partners, a multi-stage venture capital partnership, where he has focused on investments in information technology and digital media.  Polaris has over $3.5 billion under management and has invested in over 100 startups.  Steve is actively engaged in cultivating innovation in K-12 education.  He is co-founder and vice chairman of the board of directors of the George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF), an operating foundation that conducts research and publishes stories of exemplary programs in teaching and learning at www.edutopia.org.  He also serves on several other boards of education innovators, including Educurious Partners (www.educurious.org), CASEL (The Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, www.casel.org), Engaged Learning (www.enlearn.org), The Teaching Channel (www.teachingchannel.org), The New Mexico School for the Arts (www.nmschoolforthearts.org) and the Institute of Play (www.instituteofplay.org.)  He also serves as a strategic advisor at the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds, focusing on the emerging field of affective neuroscience.
