Santa Fe-based Meow Wolf has spent nearly a decade uniting scores of artists in a collaborative effort to build “worlds of wonder” that can wow people from all walks of life.
The collaborative, which launched in 2008, creates massive, interactive shows with gaming and digital technology that provide story-telling tours of fantasy lands for adults and children.
In its biggest endeavor to date, the collaborative hosted a four-month show in 2011 that featured a life-size ship built by about 100 artists. The exhibit, which drew some 25,000 people, allowed visitors to virtually walk through corridors and imaginary portholes in a lifelike sci-fi adventure where they could see and learn about alien life in other worlds and dimensions.
